Stars have been knocking Marvel casting rumors out of the park this week. First Millie Bobby Brown denied being cast in the upcoming The Eternals film.

Now, Taron Egerton is letting down quite a few fans after denying the ongoing rumor that he had been cast by as the new Wolverine.

Digital Spy reports that the Rocketman actor called the rumors "unfounded," but that he would be down if Marvel Studios was.

Egerton told Heart Breakfast, “That one I think is just a rumor. As far as I'm aware it's unfounded. I don't know if I'm quite grisly enough… I mean if the people at Marvel think I am then great, let's go. But I think there are probably better candidates. But I would love to be involved with that world somewhere.”

Funnily enough, Egerton wasn’t the only actor shutting down Wolverine rumors this week. Digital Spy goes on to report that Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe was forced to be direct about his casting status for the role after he made a joke about it in an interview.

He told the website, “This is what happens when you make jokes…Wouldn’t it be great if you could just start casting yourself in things by just saying them in interviews?...The internet seems to think that I was putting [the joke] out there on my dream board cosmic ordering system.”

If not Radcliffe or Egerton, then who will Marvel Studios choose? I guess we will have to wait to see if any of these pesky rumors stick--though it might be a while before we see a new Wolverine on the big screen anyway.
