Taylor Selfridge Speaks Out After Cory Wharton Faces Backlash for Saying He Won't Vaccinate Their Child

Taylor Selfridge is doing some damage control this week after her boyfriend and baby daddy, Teen Mom OG's Cory Wharton, said they will not be vaccinating their child. According to OK! Magazine, the 28-year-old TV personality did a Q&A on his Instagram Live this week, and when the question about vaccines came up, Wharton responded, “Will you vaccinate? Nope!”
As I’m sure you’ve seen on social media 10,000 times before, there ain’t no debate like the vaccine debate. So, naturally, some livid fans had a few choice words for the MTV star about his decision. One user posted, “The fact that @CoryWharton is anti-vax is so so BEYOND concerning.” Another wrote, “@CoryWharton so Ryder has a severely weak immune system but [you're] NOT VACCINATING the baby? Are [you] dumb or just a piece of s**t!? @itskcheyenne [you] good with this.”
However, Selfridge quickly came to her man’s defense, posting on her own Instagram Story:
“Guys...we will be vaccinating the baby. Cory didn't even read the full question before he answered it and I wasn't paying attention lol it wasn't that deep. But yes we will when the baby is here.” She later stated in another post, “Believe it or not but what I choose to do with my child is none of your business.”
The new baby girl will be Selfridge’s first child, and Wharton’s second, sharing two-year-old Ryder with Cheyenne Floyd. Ryder has a condition called VCLAD, in which the body is unable to break down certain fats, therefore unable to produce the energy needed to stay healthy—another reason followers were so upset at Wharton’s anti-vax stance.
Regardless of what they decide, we hope their baby girl is happy and healthy.
