'Teen Mom 3's Mackenzie McKee Gets Dog Taken Away by Animal Control
It looks like after the whole ordeal with ex Teen Mom 2 stars Jenelle Evans and David Eason, which saw the controversial father shooting and killing his wife's french bulldog, people aren't messing around when it comes to reality stars' pets.
Mackenzie McKee of Teen Mom 3 fame found this out the hard way, as her dog has apparently been removed from her home by Animal Control. The star opened up to TMZ about the incident, explaining that her neighbor reported her for leaving her Harlequin Great Dane alone in her backyard while she was on vacation.
The star was on a cruise in the Bahamas, and claims her mom and other family members had been coming by to feed and tend to her dog, Hank. However, photos released show his pen dirty and clearly not cleaned up after. Mackenzie is defending herself against the pics, saying they had to have been taken right after the dog pooped.
According to TMZ, witnesses say that Animal Control was called because there was a storm on Sunday, and Hank was crying outside without any shelter from the rain.
And despite Mackenzie's excuses, the damage has already been done. According to RadarOnline, the reality star is being slammed by PETA. Their Senior Vice President of Cruelty Investigations Daphna Nachminovitch told the publication in a statement:
“Anyone who would leave a dog alone for days on end—let alone in a muddy, feces-laden cage outdoors at the mercy of the elements—lacks common sense and basic decency. Mackenzie McKee's neighbor was absolutely right to report her for abandoning and neglecting this dog. PETA hopes McKee will allow him to be adopted by a family who understands that dogs need and deserve companionship, exercise, and respect.”
Mackenzie is no stranger to controversy, but when it's involving a living creature, she should probably pay more attention.
