'Teen Mom OG's Amber Portwood Released From Jail
Amber Portwood has been released from jail on a bail bond after being arrested early Friday morning.
The Ashley reports that the 29-year-old Teen Mom OG star was picked up by police after her baby daddy and current boyfriend, Andrew Glennon, texted Indiana’s 911 system in the early hours of the morning, stating that he felt his life, and the life of their one-year-old son, were in danger.
Amber was charged with Grade 6 felony domestic battery and will appear in court on Monday, July 8 at 8:30 a.m.
This is not the first time Amber has been in the slammer. In Nov. 2010, after an extensive investigation following MTV-aired scenes depicting Amber acting violently with her eldest child’s father, Gary Shirley, Amber was charged with three counts of domestic violence, two of them felonies.
She was arrested again in Dec. 2011 for a Class D felony of possession of a controlled substance, and was then later charged with violating her probation. In 2012, she spent 17 months in prison.
The local news source, The Indy Channel, reports about the most recent incident that “arriving officers say the male victim [Glennon] told them his live-in-girlfriend assaulted him while he was holding their one-year-old child.”
Neither Andrew nor Amber have made a public statement about the arrest, but Amber’s enemy, Jenelle Evans, seemingly couldn’t help but take a jab at Amber on social media.
We will see how the judge handles Amber's situation on Monday. She could very well follow in Jenelle’s footsteps and lose custody of her children.
