'Teen Mom OG's Amber Portwood Takes Plea Deal in Domestic Battery Case
By Rachel Reed
Amber Portwood won't be serving time this instance, Us Weekly reports.
This summer, the Teen Mom OG star was charged with two counts of domestic battery and one count of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. Thanks to a plea deal, Amber now faces one felony charge and probation for one year. If she's able to keep her cool, there's reportedly a chance the legal load will be lightened once more and she'll walk away with only a misdemeanor.
A source also told Us Weekly that Portwood is "relieved, but overall she's really just focused on James." After the altercation, her then-boyfriend Andrew Glennon filed for emergency custody of their one-year-old son. It is still unclear what the final custody arrangement will be, so stay tuned. Glennon currently has primary custody.
The July mishap wasn't the first situation with an ex for Portwood. As we know from her days on MTV's 16 and Pregnant, it's often been an uphill battle for the mom-of-two when it comes to romance. Regardless, no jail time could mean she has been given a fighting chance to focus on her future, her family, and hopefully putting the worst of her legal troubles behind her. Starting now.
