'The Bachelor' Fans Wonder if Jed Wyatt Even Inspired Title for Spinoff 'Listen to Your Heart' After Clip Surfaces
Fans of the Bachelor franchise were heartbroken to hear that filming for Clare Crawley's season of The Bachelorette had been put on pause over safety concerns amid COVID-19, meaning that the schedule for all shows afterwards is also likely pushed back. However, we do have one thing to look forward to—the newest spinoff series, Listen to Your Heart, which debuts next week.
Listen to Your Heart follows hopeful singers looking for love, similar to many other dating shows out there, but with a twist. The contestants will participate in dates that are all music-focused, with host Chris Harrison saying of the series, "It's a genius concept. It is A Star is Born meets Bachelor in Paradise." We're intrigued.
When fans first heard of the new spinoff, they instantly thought of Jed Wyatt, the contestant on Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette who ultimately was given the final rose. However, it was soon revealed he was there for all the wrong reasons, and it was widely believed he only came onto the show to promote his music career. Too bad he couldn't have just waited for Listen to Your Heart. Fans speculate that ABC producers made this show to poke fun at Jed, which would be a savage move. And now, a fan on Reddit has pointed out another connection.
User KSS2418 posted a clip from The Bachelorette of Jed saying, "You have to really, like, listen to your heart." You can see the video here. "Not only did they get the idea for the show from Jed, they also got the title from him! He’s gotta be pissed...," the Redditor wrote. Coincidence? Fans think not. Comments on the post have popped up such as, "In my mind, producers conceived of this whole idea after what Jed did."
Could the entire spinoff, even the title, be inspired by Jed? It seems extremely calculating, but remember—the devil works hard, but The Bachelor producers work harder. Listen to Your Heart premieres on Monday, April 13, at 8:00 p.m. EST, and you can watch it on ABC.
