The Boys season 3 sets summer premiere
The Boys are back in town! Well they're on their way anyway ... The popular Amazon Prime Video series following the raunchy super-heroes is set to return on June 3!
The ensemble drama — starring Jack Quaid and Karl Urban— will return on a weekly rollout schedule. Similar to what Amazon did with season 2, the eight-episode third season will drop the first three episodes on June 3, followed by one new episode a week until the season finale streams on July 8.
The Amazon adaptation of the comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson uses the original characters and world of the source material, but twists it into a unique, new story. And in Season Three, as show creator Eric Kripke told Entertainment Weekly, "The Boys will explore the Seven before the Seven."
This means the show will introduce Soldier Boy, the first Captain America-esque supe, and his original team called Payback. This team consisted of Stormfront, Eagle the Archer, Tek Knight, and Chrimson Countess.
"One of the reasons that we're getting into Soldier Boy [in season 3] and that team, Payback, is we're interested in exploring a little bit of how we got here," Kripke told EW.
