The Hooded Figure You Might've Missed in New 'Game of Thrones' Episode Teaser
By Hannah Wigandt
Nothing gets by Game of Thrones fans, especially when there’s only two more episodes left in the series. Eagle-eyed (or should we say raven-eyed) fans have been studying every episode of the final season and the teasers for what’s to come, so when a strange hooded figure was found for a quick second in the preview for this week’s episode, we really can’t be surprised some called attention to it online.
The scene in the teaser that has fans on Reddit theorizing happens around the 0:23-mark, and sees a black hooded figure walking through the Golden Company. We don’t actually see a face as they’re pretty far away, but that didn’t stop user 2obbe from speculating whether or not the person could be the mysterious Jaqen H'ghar, the Faceless Man who trained Arya Stark.
The last time we saw Jaqen was in Season 6, after he deemed Arya “No one” and subsequently let her leave when she corrected him: “A girl is Arya Stark from Winterfell.” Jaqen has proved to be one of the most mysterious characters in Game of Thrones history, and could be anywhere in Westeros if he was wearing the right face. He could even be wearing the face of one of the main characters, for all we know.
However, fans also have other ideas. Redditor jeffyouwon wrote in the same thread that it could be Daario Naharis, Daenerys Targaryen’s former lover who we also haven’t seen since Season 6. “He is one of the members of the golden company. He is gonna reveal himself and help turn the Golden Company to Dany's side,” the fan theorized.
At this point the figure could literally be anyone, but we’re hoping it is a major character from the past. However with all the storylines the series has to conclude by the end of these remaining two episodes, we’re not certain the hooded figure will be explained.
