There's tons of fan theories about The Office swirling around the internet, but when it comes to this fan's hypothesis on Jim Halpert, they might be onto something.

The light bulb moment came to the fan during a binge-session of the workplace comedy. While watching, they shared the theory with other followers of the show over on Reddit. "Okay I've been re-watching The Office and have realized the lovable, likeable, affable, other positive pronouns that end in-able, Jim Halpert is actually a stone cold sociopath," the user insisted. "This is based on just the first couple seasons (so far) but bear with me."

The fan defined their version of a sociopath as being someone who is "anti-social" in terms of "not conforming to social norms" and uses "deceitfulness, lies, or cons" for personal gain. From there, they mapped out some of the key Office scenes that painted Jim as a sociopath. For starters, the fan called out Jim's pursuit of Pam Beesly, who was engaged at the time, pointing out that he had "no regards" for Roy's feelings.

Additionally, the fan argued that during season one, Jim "pretends" not to be interested in Amy Adams' character Katy Moore, in order to "bed Pam." Oh, and when it comes to season two, the fan thinks it's very suspicious that Jim tells Michael Scott about his feelings for Pam, when it's pretty much a known thing that his boss cannot keep a secret. "Over the next two episodes it comes out that he loves Pam and she and the whole office find out, making sociopath Jim the center of attention and making [P]am doubt her and [R]oy's relationship," the Reddit user wrote.

Throughout the thread, the theorist dropped more than a dozen instances where Jim allegedly exhibited sociopathic tendencies, and though not every fan agreed with them, many actually did. "Jim Halpert is a sociopath. He's presented as lovable to throw us off," the user ultimately concluded. Read their entire theory here to judge it for yourself.
