'The Office' Fans Are Totally Torn on Steve Carell and Greg Daniels' New Show 'Space Force'
It looks like Space Force is getting mixed reviews. Anytime Steve Carell releases a new project, it's a glorious day for fans of Dunder Mifflin. However, it looks like they aren't so sure about his new galactic series. The new show, which was created by Carell and The Office showrunner Greg Daniels, hit Netflix on May 29, and soon after, the reviews started rolling in. With those two big names at the helm, people expected it to be a hit.
On Twitter, many people did gush over the show. "Anyone else watching Space Force on Netflix? I am on episode 3 and my God, I can't watch this without laughing my ass off every five minutes! Ridiculously funny with a stellar cast!," one tweet read.
This certainly wasn't the general consensus, though. "#SpaceForce is a huge disappointment," another person tweeted. "What was Netflix doing giving such a huge budget to something so corny?? The acting is great and it’s very competently made, just not at all funny."
Another person called it "an utter disappointment," while another tweeted, "Well [I'm] not that taken with Netflix #SpaceForce. It's a bit s**t & it's not funny."
One thing fans were 100% here for? Lisa Kudrow's appearance in the comedy, which had one fan comparing it to Friends. "When The Office met Friends," they wrote when sharing a screenshot.
Ultimately, fans can expect plenty of Office-centric humor from Carell in the show. But judging from the mixed reviews, it's apparently not for everyone.
