'The Office's Kate Flannery to Give Virtual Graduation Commencement Speech at Her Alma Mater High School
By Rachel Reed
Because of the safety guidelines we must be taking seriously right now, most gatherings are being done virtually. As the pandemic continues, it's not just prom that's gone from in-person to Instagram Live for the class of 2020. Graduation for seniors around the country will occur while in quarantine this year, but one of the silver linings during this unfortunate situation is proving to be the commencement speaker availability for virtual appearances.
For one high school in Ardmore Pennsylvania, they're getting their commencement perks straight from Dunder Mifflin's finest. Kate Flannery, most famously known for her work on The Office, is giving the 2020 commencement speech at Archbishop John Carroll High School, reports CBS Philly. Turns out, the actress who played the one and only Meredith Palmer is an Ardmore, Pennsylvania alum. And so, it seems this appearance is a little more personal than just your average mainstream public appearance in a small town via livestream.
As the publication notes, the actress actually got her acting start during her time at Archbishop John Carroll High School. Having graced those halls long before her iconic role on the beloved series makes the graduation pretty dang special, no matter how you watch it. Make sure to tune in on June 3 with the link here.
