The Surprising Reason Sophie Turner's Dad Approves of Joe Jonas

Fans everywhere were elated back in 2017 when Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner got engaged, as the couple had been a fan-favorite since they began dating. Fast forward to almost two years later, and the pair shocked the world by having a surprise wedding in Las Vegas, right after the Billboard Music Awards. It's safe to say this fun-loving twosome is not only regarded highly by their fans--but also by their friends and family members.

The Game of Thrones alum recently opened up on how her parents feel about her marriage, revealing the fact that Jonas is a musician gave him the stamp of approval from her dad.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Turner revealed on the Hollywood Foreign Press Association HFPA in Conversations podcast that her dad is becoming a fan of his son-in-law's music. "He's getting into the Jonas Brothers," she stated. "They weren't his demographic, but he's getting into them now and he loves them and the new music is fantastic."

"So yeah, my dad was beyond pleased when I married a musician because it was always kind of, 'You have to marry a rugby player or a musician,'" Turner explained. "So I got one of them right."

Although Turner and Jonas are technically married already, they're planning to have a real wedding with family and friends (neither of their parents were in attendance at the Vegas ceremony) this month. According to Us Weekly, the couple's big day is set for late June--apparently the same date as fellow celebs Zoë Kravitz and Karl Glusman.

While Diplo likely won't be live-streaming the wedding, we're hopeful to get some sweet photos between Turner, Jonas, and their family.
