'The Witcher' Twitter Account Reveals When Season 2 Will Resume Production
Netflix's The Witcher, based on the book series of the same name, premiered in Dec. 2019 and has already secured a second season. However, like many shows in a similar situation, production for the next season was halted amid the coronavirus pandemic. But fans have some good news now, as ComicBook.com reports that it has been officially confirmed that production for the fantasy series will resume on August 17.
The announcement, which came by way of the official The Witcher Twitter account, looks like it was written by Jaskier in some wayward pub. Everybody loves a good rhyme, especially when it delivers such great news! You can check out the tweet below.
The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Freya Allan as Princess Ciri. Alongside returning cast members, season two will introduce several new characters, some of which have been announced, while the actors playing the others remain a secret. Game of Thrones fans will be happy to learn that Natalie Dormer may have been cast in one of these new roles, as well as Kristofer Hivju.
