Spider-Man fans around the world rejoiced when Marvel and Sony were finally able to come to an agreement about the friendly neighborhood superhero, even though it almost didn’t happen.

Now, according to IGN, actor Tom Holland is gearing up for Spider-Man's return, as filming on the third MCU movie is set to begin in July of this year. "I’m super happy about it," Holland said of the film in an interview with The Philippine Daily Inquirer. "We will be shooting 'Spider-Man 3' in July in Atlanta." Holland seems extremely pleased about Spider-Man staying in the MCU based on his hilarious reaction to the news, which you can check out here. He also says the storyline for the upcoming movie is "absolutely insane," and confirmed Zendaya will return as MJ, the sarcastic brainiac fans know and love from the first two films.

When we last left our hero at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter Parker and MJ had happily kicked off their romance following the terror wrought by Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal). While it seemed like Mysterio was seemingly defeated, he had one last trick up his sleeve—exposing Peter Parker as Spider-Man.

With Peter's identity exposed, I'm excited and interested to see how his new relationship with MJ develops. Holland's third standalone film as Spider-Man is set to debut July 16, 2021. In the meantime, check out these awesome deals here for Sling TV to catch up on all your favorite shows and movies.
