Tory Lanez's fans launch petition urging an appeal for the rapper after shooting Megan Thee Stallion
Tory Lanez's fans have echoed some of his father's conspiracy theories in a new petition calling for an appeal for the convicted felon.
In the petition, shared online over the weekend, the writers cast aspersions on the integrity of both the jury and prosecutors, while claiming that Lanez's victim Megan Thee Stallion, 27, lied on the stand.
Lanez, 30, was convicted on Friday of three felony counts for assault with a semi-automatic firearm, shooting a firearm in a grossly negligent manner and carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle.
The petition also includes baseless conspiracy theories that were previously spouted by Lanez's father Sonstar Peterson shortly after the guilty verdict was pronounced, which blamed Jay-Z and Beyoncé for his son's conviction.
The petition called Lanez's conviction "a true miscarriage of justice" and claimed that the state did not prove its case.
It also claimed the 10-day trial was, "A circus of speculation, insufficient evidence, inconsistencies, and drunken memories left us without much moral certainty of any truth."
