Victoria Villarroel Clarifies Why She Quit Being Kylie Jenner's Assistant Amid Influencer Reports

Kylie Jenner’s former assistant and gal pal, Victoria Villarroel, quit her job back in spring 2019. Since then, followers of have speculated that the 27-year-old star is using her increased following on social media, a perk of working for the makeup mogul, and moving towards a career as an Instagram influencer.

Things escalated yesterday when Us Weekly reported that an inside source had told them, “Victoria wants to be an influencer in her own right and is focusing on that now,” also clarifying, “Kylie and Victoria are still friends and close. Kylie doesn’t have any bad feelings about Victoria going off to do her own thing and is supportive.”

But, as it turns out that, that couldn’t be more wrong. Entertainment Tonight reports that Victoria then took to her Instagram Story to set the record straight about her career path. The Venezuelan beauty explained in the following caption:

“You guys! Lol don't believe everything you read please! This story is false. I worked with Kylie for 5 years and she became one of my closest friends. We both decided it was time to grow without each other professionally about a year ago. She's still one of my best friends and our relationship has only gotten stronger. Now let's focus our time and energy on other things! A lot is happening in the world right now.”

Though Victoria left her post as Kylie’s right-hand lady, she still frequently pops up on the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star’s Instagram. The ladies often hang out together, along with their girlfriends Yris Palmer, Stassie Karanikolaou, and Sofia Richie.
