VIDEO: Angela Bassett Says 'Amazing' 'Black Panther' Sequel is 'Coming Along'
This week, Angela Bassett (star of so many great movies and TV shows, I can’t even count) stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and gave Black Panther fans an update on the highly-anticipated sequel. Director Ryan Coogler has already committed to returning to write and helm the sequel to his 2018 hit.
"[It's] going along. Coming along," Bassett told Fallon. "Amazing, absolutely." Black Panther was instantly a smash hit, becoming the second highest-grossing film of 2018, and the first superhero film to be nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Doing his best to weasel details out of the American Horror Story star, who plays matriarch Ramonda in the Marvel action flick, Fallon said, "You were telling me backstage that they decided to change the costume of Black Panther?" Going along with the joke, Bassett quipped, "Jimmy, I was telling you that in confidence. You are now—you did not!"

After the Saturday Night Live alum assured the audience he was only kidding, Bassett jokingly backtracked, "I know nothing about nothing. I have nothing to talk about." Fallon replied, "We have guests on the show from these Marvel movies, and they're not allowed to talk at all. So, I'm like, ‘Alright!'"
Although there aren't many details about what's in store for T'Challa and his family next, at least we have Angela Bassett to reassure us that it will be worth the wait to find out. In the meantime, check out these awesome deals here for Sling TV to catch up on all your favorite shows and movies.
