VIDEO: Emilia Clarke Just Confirmed Who Was Really Responsible for That 'Game of Thrones' Coffee Cup
There have been quite a few notable scandals that have gone down this year, but none were more hilarious than the coffee cup-gate incident that occurred in the final season of Game of Thrones. While the cast has since pointed fingers and placed blame on their colleagues for the inclusion of a modern day plastic cup in an episode of the fantasy series, Daenerys Targaryen actor Emilia Clarke has finally set the record straight.
The newly 33-year-old star stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week, and during the interview, was asked to comment on Sophie Turner’s (Sansa Stark) claim that it was Clarke who was to blame for the caffeinated mishap when she visited Fallon’s show a few months ago.
After watching the clip of Turner shamelessly blaming the Mother of Dragons, Clarke revealed:
“So, here's the truth. We had, like, a party before the Emmys recently, and [Conleth Hill]—who plays Varys, who's sitting next to me in that scene—he pulls me aside and he's like, 'Emilia, I gotta tell you something. I gotta tell you something, love. The coffee cup is mine.”
Clarke continued, “It was his!" It was Conleth's coffee cup, he said so. He's like, 'I think it was, I'm sorry. I didn't want to say anything because it seemed the heat was very much on you.' And I was like, 'What?!”
It seems that the Spider didn’t want to face the wrath of Khaleesi when the scandal first hit headlines, but, unfortunately for him, the master of secrets couldn’t keep this one to himself.
