VIDEO: Fan-Made 'Game of Thrones' Alternate Ending Turns Bran Into the Villain [SPOILERS]

Through all the battles, alliances, and love stories in Game of Thrones, one question remained: In the end, who would sit on the Iron Throne? Many of the main characters had been fighting to get to the moment when the new ruler would be revealed, only to have Bran Stark chosen. Fans had conflicting opinions about this decision, as well as many other key moments of the final season. And now, one viewer has created an alternate ending where Bran’s true intentions are not as innocent as the actual series conclusion made them out to be.

Twitter user @KhaledComics shared a fan-made video that, in just 30 seconds, manipulates a few scenes of season 8 to create a whole new—and much darker—ending to the series.

The clip begins with Jon Snow apologizing to Bran for not looking after him, to which Bran replies, “You were exactly where you were supposed to be.” Then, his eyes turn blue, suggesting he’s possessed by the Night King in some capacity, or is even the new undead leader.

The video continues with an edited flashback of Bran warging into Daenerys right before she sets King’s Landing on fire, making it clear he could’ve warged into different characters in the past to set into motion the events that would eventually lead to him being crowned king.

Some fans are on board with this new ending, with a few even speculating that Bran could have caused other major moments to occur throughout the series, including the Red Wedding. But even though there will likely be similar videos to come, it doesn’t change the real ending of Game of Thrones. Still, we can always pretend—isn’t that what fan fiction is all about?
