VIDEO: 'Game of Thrones' Star Peter Dinklage Wins Best Actor in a Drama Series at 2020 SAG Awards
Tyrion Lannister does more than just drink and know things… he also wins SAG Awards!
Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage took home the accolade last night for Best Actor in a Drama Series. The 50-year-old New Jersey native has been nominated six times for the category and this year won for the first time, up against Sterling K. Brown (This is Us), Steve Carell and Billy Crudup (The Morning Show), and David Harbour (Stranger Things).
In the video above, Dinklage starts his acceptance speech by joking, “Oh my, I think he was on Game of Thrones,” looking at the little nude man award.
He then takes a more serious tone, thanking “the people of Northern Ireland, who put up with us for nine years,” and later extending the sentiment to his castmates. He continues, “I would also like to thank people at table nine and 10 and beyond over there. We put up with each other for nine years.”
The Pixels actor then wraps up his speech with a tender shout-out to his wife of 15 years, Erica Schmidt, saying, “Finally and most importantly, I’d like to thank my wife who put up with me for more than nine years, but lived in a place far away from home, but made it home because we were together.”
Congratulations to Peter on his well-deserved win!
