VIDEO: Kylie Jenner Donates $200,000 to Financially Struggling Mom and Daughter in Amazing Surprise
Billionaire Kylie Jenner recently decided to spread some of her wealth built from her successful beauty brand, Kylie Cosmetics. The reality star partnered with Ellen DeGeneres in celebration of her birthday this year to give away $1 million to some very inspiring people this week on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Jenner surprised a 22-year-old New York City student named Ashley Almonte and her mom Mireya Almonte with $100,000 each to help alleviate their financial burdens. It was an extremely emotional moment as both of the women were in tears.
Ashley Almonte had recently dropped out of college to help support her mother a teacher at P.S. 35, a Section 1 school in the Bronx.
Mireya Almonte spoke on the school saying, “We service children that come from shelters, from homeless situations. We’re like a family as P.S. 35.We don’t only teach them academically, we also embrace them, we encourage them, we help the parents too if they’re going through difficult situations. And most of the money comes from our pockets because we don’t get enough funding for this.”
Speaking on dropping out of school to help her mother, Ashely said, “I saw the need. I saw her tears. I saw all of that. So stepped up and just took my job and said, ‘Let me go full-time.’ Let me just help her. Like, I want to see her okay. I would do anything to make sure she’s okay.”
Kylie also told Ashley exactly why she connected to her story. “I kind of resonated with your story because of how much you love your mom,” Kylie said. “And I’m obsessed with my mom. I would do anything for my mom so I really love that about you.”
Kylie Jenner who just recently became a mother in February 2018 resonated with the Ashley's story. She also donated to several other women with very noble causes.
