VIDEO: See First Look at 'Punky Brewster' and 'Saved by the Bell' Reboots With New Peacock Teasers
The '80s and '90s are back thanks to NBC's brand-new streaming service, Peacock! The exciting new platform will be home to the network's beloved shows, such as The Office, Parks and Recreation, and 30 Rock, along with upcoming reboots of some of our childhood favorites. Their official Twitter account caught major attention this week, when they debuted first looks at some of the exciting new shows, including reboots for Punky Brewster and Saved by the Bell.
Revisiting Punky Brewster, which ran from 1984 to 1988, is especially exciting for '80s kids, seeing as original star Soleil Moon Frye will be reprising the titular role. The reboot will follow a grown-up Punky with her own kids, navigating life as an adult. But don't worry, her classic silly quirkiness we all loved in the original is far from gone. Watch the teaser below.
People are also super excited to travel back to Bayside High School for the Saved by the Bell reunion, which will bring back Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris), Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater), and Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano), along with introducing some new faces. The fan-favorite series originally ran from 1989 to 1992. Enjoy the first look at the reboot below.
While neither reboots have release dates as of yet, Peacock is set to launch on July 15, with a "sneak peek" being offered to select Comcast customers right now.
