VIDEO: Ray J and Brandy Weigh in on Kim Kardashian Cultural Appropriation Accusations After She Wears Braids

Kim Kardashian is currently getting slammed online for a recent post showing herself in braids, which was followed up by her stepping out in a similar braids hairstyle with hubby Kanye West. The internet has blown up with critiques of the star, calling her out for cultural appropriation and reminding her that she isn't black. In light of this recent eruption, Ray J and Brandy appeared on The Talk and they ended up discussing the latest Kim K scandal.

Fans will remember that back in 2007, Kim dated Ray J, and the couple made a sex tape together which, as some argue, essentially launched Kim into fame.

As reported by People, Brandy had nothing but positive things to say about Kardashian, saying, “I don’t think that she’s guilty. I definitely believe in that, but I think it’s reaching a little bit for people to say that. I mean, it’s great. I love braids. I think everybody should have braids, but I think we’re going too far with that with her.” It's important to note that Brandy was wearing cornrow braids in her hair while on The Talk.

Ray J joined in on defending his ex, saying, “I just think that if you are paying homage to another culture by, you know, rocking the braids, I think it’s a compliment.”
