VIDEO: Someone Hilariously Turned the 'Game of Thrones' Ending Into a John Hughes Tribute
By Hannah Wigandt
Even if you haven't watched the series finale of Game of Thrones yet, you've probably still been able to gather that many fans are not happy about it, including the 1.5 million who signed a petition to have it redone. But instead of supporting a remake, some are instead simply creating their own endings for the series online, including one video posted to Twitter that puts a surprising John Hughes twist on the HBO show.
As Thrillist highlights, Twitter user Dan Olson shared a video depicting the last moments of the Game of Thrones finale as if the characters were in a classic 1980s Hughes movie. The revisioned scenes have captions of each character's fate after the show, with the Tears for Fears song "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" hilariously playing in the background.
The video starts off with Jon Snow up north, with the caption reading, "Jon settled with the free folk and helped establish trade in the North. Lacking leadership and numbers in the aftermath of the defeat of the White Walkers, the Night's Watch quietly disbanded."
Along with Sansa Stark, who's rule as Queen in the North sees the starvation of many Northerners, Arya finds "Westereros," Gendry is beaten up by Stannis Baratheon loyalists at Storm's End, Tyrion Lannister realizes he's lord of Casterly Rock, Bronn is killed in a bar fight, and many more hypothetical conclusions are revealed.
After the divisive real Game of Thrones finale, we truly needed this.
