Why Ariana Grande Reportedly Just Filed a $10 Million Lawsuit Against Forever 21

Forever 21 is not having good luck lately. Reports claimed last week that the retail store is considering filing for bankruptcy. And only days after that news surfaced, Ariana Grande filed a lawsuit against Forever 21 for "stealing her name and likeness," according to Cosmopolitan. In other words, she's claiming they're copying her signature style without paying her.
On Labor Day, Ariana Grande filed a $10 million lawsuit in the Los Angeles federal court, according to NBC News. The suit claimed that Forever 21 was "stealing her name and likeness to promote its products and a beauty company started by its founders' daughters." The beauty company is called Riley Rose.

The retail store used her song "7 Rings" as a song in one of its campaigns and hired a model who looks identical to Ariana. Apparently, the pop star feels that they are attempting to make shoppers think she has endorsed these products when she has not.
There is no news yet on Forever 21's response to the lawsuit. According to Bloomberg, the company is meeting with financial advisors and money lenders to give one last try to restructuring their debt.
