On May 10, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed their fourth child, a son, into their family. One week later, they made the announcement that his name was to be Psalm. Fans had been speculating on the baby's name since Kim first announced she was pregnant, but no one suspected such a unique name.

In Hebrew, Psalm means "song" and harks back to the Book of Psalms in the Bible, believed to be linked to King David. This spiritual background to the name is fitting for the Kardashian-West family because, as a source told E! News, "Psalm was chosen by Kanye and is a representation of their spirituality."

Apparently Kim wasn't convinced of the name at first, but it was very important to Kanye, a second source shared. "He presented it to Kim and she thought about it and ultimately agreed," they said.

The name Psalm aligns with Kanye's Sunday Services. Kim spoke about the service with Elle, saying, "It's definitely something he believes in—Jesus—and there's a Christian vibe. But there's no preaching. It's just a very spiritual Christian
experience."
