Cote de Pablo has headed back to NCIS, and surprisingly, some diehard fans of the series are not embracing the move.

The actress made her surprise return as Ziva David in the Season 16 finale, "Daughters," premiering on May 21, and while many are excited at the character being back, others are annoyed. According to The Cheat Sheet, fans have taken to social media platforms, such as Reddit, to express their frustration with her return.

One wrote:

"Would I care if she returned anyway? Not one bit. It’s time to end [the show] in my opinion. The moment they gave Gibbs a fourth wife (fifth, including Shannon, I think) was the moment his story arc was drawn out for me. I am currently re-watching old (Season 4) NCIS episodes and it just shows how far this show has declined. I’ve watched it air since day one. I want it to last but only if it’s worth it."

Another added, "Honestly, I think that Ziva’s return was the least interesting thing of this episode."

Besides fan frustration, some are even wondering if the scene was actually real. TV Line ran an article in which they speculated Ziva's return was just all in Gibbs' head.

NCIS is due to return for its 17th season sometime this year, and we'll be waiting to see what Ziva's significance is in the upcoming premiere.
