Will Ferrell's run on The Office was short-lived, but each episode he appeared in was undeniably hilarious. And while the comedic actor may seem like one of the most confident stars in Hollywood, he admitted the role gave him cold feet at first.

"It was a little intimidating at first because that cast is like a well-oiled machine and they know each other so well," Ferrell told NPR back in 2011. He continued of taking on the role of Deangelo Vickers, "I really haven't done much episodic television, and I really didn't have much going on in terms of film and production, so I said absolutely, I would love it."

According to NPR, Ferrell's time on the show boosted ratings, but the actor didn't stick around the long haul. However, he still loved his time hanging at Dunder Mifflin. "They shoot very close to where I live," he added. "They shoot very quickly. There's such a free flow to the improvisational style, and the writing is really sharp. I did see why people love working on that show."

As much as we loved Ferrell's multi-episode run, many critics did as well. The Wall Street Journal's Julie Steinberg wrote that the actor showed a different side himself on The Office. "For viewers who were expecting the laugh-out-loud hijinks of Ferrell's Ron Burgundy of Anchorman, they may have been surprised to encounter a more muted, sometimes-mean manager with a penchant for physical humor and odd power displays," she reviewed.

The Office's most memorable faces like Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, and Jenna Fischer might have carried the show, but Ferrell's scenes are definitely always worth a re-watch!
