Beloved actor Sean Bean has been fortunate enough to get to play two major (if not slightly short) roles for two major franchises. The 60-year-old UK native first played Boromir in the 2001 film The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, and later took on the role of Ned Stark in Game of Thrones. Now it seems that the actor who played a younger version of him on the HBO series is following in his footsteps.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Robert Aramayo has been cast to star as Beldor in Amazon’s Lord of the Rings TV series after the original actor, Will Poulter, dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. Following Ned Stark’s tragic death in Season 1, his son Bran (Isaac Hempstead) developed powers. Aramayo played a young Ned in Bran’s visions in Seasons 6 and 7.

The new series based on J.R.R Tolkien’s novels is set in The Second Age of Middle-Earth and follows a new set of characters. Though the official cast has yet to be announced, another GoT veteran, Benjen Stark actor Joseph Mawle, will also be joining the show.

The Lord of the Rings is set to air in 2021, and has already had early approval for a second season. Let’s see if young Ned Stark can make it to a second season as Beldor.
