According to reports, Zayn Malik  has been dropped by his record label, RCA, following fears that he has been smoking “extremely strong” cannabis.

This comes after it was revealed that the 28-year-old singer had split from model Gigi Hadid, 26, after denying claims that he had struck her mother Yolanda Hadid.

Now The Sun is reporting that Malik has been ditched by his US record label RCA following claims from those close to him saying that he has been increasingly smoking “extremely strong” cannabis.

A senior music source told the publication on Thursday: “A lot of people have tried desperately to get Zayn’s life and career back on track, but nothing has worked.

“So many people who have worked with him have just given up.

“He’s almost impossible to control or guide. A while ago his label quietly decided it was the end of the line for their relationship, and now this.”

Zayn has often spoken openly about smoking marijuana, previously revealing that he thinks it can help him when it comes to his 'creative process' as a musician.
